Welcome to Rustic Rafters Cabins & Camping, where nature meets comfort in the beautiful woodlands of Northeast Missaukee County. We’re Jeff and Lori Nicholas, a family-owned campground where every log cabin is lovingly crafted from the red pine harvested right here on our property.

About Us

Located in the northeast corner of Missaukee County, nestled in Northwoods country so you can have peace and quiet, yet be within 25-minutes to the many area activities available in Lake City, Kalkaska, Houghton Lake, Higgins Lake, Grayling, and the Au Sable River. We are just minutes from the ATV/Snowmobile Trail and you can ride from your campsite. And just in case you forgot or need anything, a well-stocked country store/gas station is located a short 1.5 miles from our campground.

Want to hit the trail but don’t have a ride. We have a company that provides rentals of Sidexside’s, ATV’S & Snowmobiles and they will deliver to our location. You can check them out at greaternorthpowersportsandrent.com

PET POLICY: We are a pet friendly park. Pets are not to be left unattended at your site or in the cabin unless in a kennel. Dogs must be on a leash and please clean up after your pet.

Ways to Stay

Cozy Log Cabins

Experience the charm of our authentic red pine log cabins, each thoughtfully designed to blend rustic appeal with modern comfort. Choose from our Eagles Nest, Ten Point, Snowshoe, Bull Elk, or Trapper cabins, each 14’x18’ with a cozy loft.

RV Sites

Settle into one of our spacious, grassy campsites, thoughtfully spaced with trees for maximum privacy. All 25 sites provide water and electric hookups, with 8 large pull-thru sites available for bigger rigs. A dump station is conveniently accessible for your comfort.

Great campground. Very nice cabins have heat, air conditioning, and electric. They come stocked with a mini fridge, crockpot, toaster, and microwave. Very friendly people. Really nice pavilion you can rent for events. We just had our wedding there and it was beautiful and we were well taken care of. They take really good care of their property, and guests. I highly recommend camping here.
